OUR 2024 SCHOLARS!

VICTORIA TURNER

I am Victoria Turner and I graduated from Beckman High School at the end of May. I will be attending the University of Arizona with plans to major in Business/Economics & Accounting. Once I earn my degrees, I plan to work at a BIG Four Accounting firm. I am honored and grateful to Dollars for Tustin Scholars for awarding me one of their scholarships. This scholarship will tremendously help with my college expenses, which in turn, will help me achieve my goals and realize my dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

Akil nafi

Akil graduated from Foothill High School and will be attending UCI for Mechanical Engineering. This past summer, Akil spent many hours mentoring local robotics teams, which he plans to continue throughout the school year. In the fall, Akil hopes to join one of the engineering project club teams at UCI like Formula SAE (similar to F1, but lower speeds and smaller cars) or Rocket Project. Akil is super excited to start in the fall and forever grateful for the support from DFTS, aiding him in his journey to become a mechanical engineer.

Victoria garcia

My name is Victoria Garcia and I graduated in 2024 from Foothill High School. I plan on majoring in Sociology with a minor in Spanish at Biola University. This summer, I've been extensively involved in volunteering. Looking ahead, I aim to become a family and child social worker to help my community. Dollars for Tustin Scholars' support and the scholarship are incredibly meaningful to me, as they will provide essential support for my education and career goals, allowing me to continue making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Beatriz Palacios

Hello, I am Beatriz! I graduated from Foothill High School and I will be attending UC Irvine. I got admitted as a Political Science major, but I intend to switch my major to Criminology, Law, and Society next quarter. I am appreciative of the Dollars for Tustin Scholars- especially because I’m the FIFTH recipient, whom they made an exception for! Their support, opportunity, kindness, and encouragement reinforce my motivation and desire for higher education as a first-generation student. I’m eager to create memories with the DFTS family and eventually share more of what I make from my university experience!

Javan Kingsley

Javan Kingsley graduated from Tustin High School. He will be attending Pepperdine University and majoring in accounting. After graduation, Javan hopes to obtain a job at one of the big four accounting firms. His biggest goal is to one day become a CFO. This scholarship means a lot to Javan because it will allow him to stress less on the financial aspect of going to Pepperdine and focus more on school. He really appreciates Dollars for Tustin Scholars for the opportunities they’ve given him, and is looking forward to going to many more of their events in the next four years and beyond.
